About us

A peaceful place, free from fear and competition.

Close to nature, children learn to think, question and explore.

“Education must help the individual to discover their uniqueness, and from there, to live freely.” Jiddu Krishnamurti
Vision

Freedom through understanding

Our highest endeavor is to create a peaceful environment free of fear and competition but closer to nature for the children to understand what it is to be free, what it is to question, to inquire and to discover the truth by oneself, thereby to flower in goodness.

Mission

Awakening the ability to think

To help children to have the capacity to think, question, explore and not to impart knowledge to the children just to help them to get a job, a livelihood.

Learning here is not just to read a book and pass an examination, but it is to bring out the ability to think and to know the right and wrong on her/his own.

With the thinking ability and freedom in a non-competitive environment, we guide the child to know himself and understand himself, his likes and dislikes, his passion and the way to life.

A space of beauty & quietness

Inspired by Jiddu Krishnamurti’s idea of education, Mango Woods seeks an atmosphere of togetherness between student and teacher, a place with the quality of sacredness in which the mind is free to flower.

Through freedom in a non-competitive environment, children are guided to understand themselves, their interests, their passions and their way of living.

A community that learns together

Akkas, Annas and children, growing as one.

Mentors are fondly addressed as Akkas and Annas. Equality, collaboration, shared responsibility and mutual respect sit at the heart of the community.

Environment

Growing without fear.

“The school should be the soil in which young people can grow without fear, happily and integrally.”
Jiddu Krishnamurti

A calm, tree-filled setting gives children room to observe, question, relate and learn together with dignity.
